In Revelation 3:14-22, Jesus delivers one of His strongest messages. He rebukes the church for being neither hot nor cold, but lukewarm. Their material prosperity had blinded them to their true spiritual condition. While they considered themselves rich, Jesus described them as spiritually poor, blind and in desperate need of His restoration.

The believers in Philadelphia may have seemed weak by worldly standards, but Jesus saw something precious: their faithfulness. They had kept His Word and endured patiently. Their strength was not found in influence, resources, or position, but in their loyalty to Christ. Because of this, Jesus placed before them an open door. This was an opportunity for God's purposes to advance, a door that no opposition could shut. It reminds us that God often works most powerfully throu

Jesus spoke some of the most sobering words found in Revelation. Outwardly the church had a reputation for life, but inwardly it had become spiritually weak. Activities continued, traditions remained, and appearances looked good, yet the spiritual fire was fading.

The believers in Thyatira lived in a culture where compromise was expected. To keep their jobs and provide for their families, many were pressured to participate in pagan practices that dishonoured God. Some gave in. Others may not have participated themselves but remained silent while it happened. Jesus' concern was not simply the existence of sin. His concern was the church's willingness to tolerate it.

Pergamum was not an easy place to follow Jesus. The city was filled with pagan temples, emperor worship, and symbols connected to the occult. Everywhere believers looked, they were surrounded by pressure to compromise their faith. Yet Jesus commended the church for standing firm.

When Jesus addressed the church in Smyrna, He had no words of criticism for them. Instead, He spoke to a church facing intense suffering, poverty, slander, and persecution. Yet He declared: 📖"I know your afflictions and your poverty, yet you are rich!" (Revelation 2:9). From a worldly perspective, the believers in Smyrna appeared poor.

When Jesus spoke to the church in Ephesus, He had many good things to say. They worked hard. They stood firm under pressure. They rejected false teaching. They persevered through difficult times. By almost every outward measure, this looked like a successful church.

Have You Ever Been There? A harsh comment. A closed door. A missed opportunity. A friendship that faded. A situation where you felt overlooked, rejected, or misunderstood. We have all been there. It is easy to believe that rejection defines us. But the Bible tells a quite different story.

Hebrews 6:1-3 Maturity Requires Movement Introduction In Part 1, we explored the foundations of the Christian life and the writer's call to spiritual maturity. Foundations are essential, but they are not the destination. A building is not complete when the foundation is poured. The foundation exists to support everything that follows. The same is true spiritually. God never intended for believers to remain permanently at the level of spiritual infancy. Salvation is just the b

These three verses form a particularly rich passage for a sermon on spiritual maturity because the writer is not primarily telling Christians to learn more information; he is urging them to move forward in their relationship with Christ.

Covenant Love Requires Reciprocity. Bible Teacher Tom Bradford writes:“Covenant love is reciprocal. God gives love and expects love back.”

COVENANT LOVE, THE LOVE GOD ACCEPTS. What if Jesus were to measure your love for Him today? Not by the songs you sing. Not by how often you attend church. Not by how emotional you feel in worship. What if He measured your love by one thing alone: your obedience?

God Himself is involved in our maturity Hebrews 6:3 ends: “And this we will do if God permits.” That is an important qualification. Spiritual maturity is not achieved simply through human determination. We cooperate with God's grace.

Hebrews 6:1–3 is a particularly rich passage for a sermon on spiritual maturity, because the writer is not primarily telling Christians to learn more information; he is urging them to move forward in their relationship with Christ.

Many Christians read only the New Testament, but the Old Testament is the foundation on which the New Testament stands. It is the story Jesus fulfils, and it reveals the God we worship.

God has never stopped reaching out to humanity—from Eden to the Cross to today. He wants closeness with His people. He wants closeness with you.

This word we're going to go through is challenging, but I feel the Lord is speaking to the room today. This is a word of love. He saw your tears, He's felt your despair, and He's heard your prayers. This is a word of love from the Lord. So take it as that—take it as your heavenly Father putting out His hand to help you move one step forward.

We are called to bless everyone, but especially fellow believers. We share a unique bond—one Lord, one faith, one Spirit, one baptism. We will spend eternity together.

“Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness…” When a brother or sister falls into sin, Paul calls us to restore them gently. The Greek word for “restore” is katartizō—the same word used for mending fishing nets. Broken nets do not catch fish; broken believers lose their witness. Restoration is about repairing what is torn so the person can return to fruitful service.

Galatians chapter 5 calls the believer to steadfast freedom, Spirit-led living, and love-filled service. This is not self-directed liberty, but joyful obedience empowered by grace. As we live in the Spirit, may we also walk in the Spirit, bringing glory to God and bearing fruit that remains.

Look across Bathgate and West Lothian today. Would you say everyone is living their best life? I do not think so. There are people who desperately need God. There are broken situations, hurting families, and lives that are crying out for hope.

Joshua chooses to honour the oath. Scripture does not spell out his prayer, but it is reasonable to imagine him coming before God in repentance: “Lord, I have made a mistake. I acted without asking You. I will bear the consequences, and I will do better next time. But I will keep my word.”

And this whole episode — including the Christophany, the appearance of Jesus as the Commander of the Lord’s army — gives us a profound insight into Joshua’s heart. He was a man who listened, obeyed, and refused to deviate from God’s word. Because of that, the Lord was able to use him mightily.

Ishmael: Born through human effort—Abraham and Sarah’s attempt to fulfil God’s promise on their own terms. Isaac: Born miraculously, as a fulfilment of God’s promise—representing grace and divine initiative.

Paul’s fears for the churches in Galatia Believers have been set free 13 You know that because of physical infirmity I preached the gospel to you at the first. 14 And my trial which was in my flesh you did not despise or reject, but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus. 15 What then was the blessing you enjoyed? For I bear you witness that, if possible, you would have plucked out your own eyes and given them to me. 16 Have I therefore become your enemy bec

1-7 Sons and Heirs Through Christ Abba Father! Previously we saw the following facts in Chapters 3a+3b. 1. It is Faith, Not Law, which brings the Spirit Paul asks: “Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith?” (v.2). The Galatians began their spiritual journey through faith, not rule-following. This sets the tone: salvation is by grace, not performance. 2. Abraham is our Model of Faith Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as

The promise was to Abraham and to his Seed—singular. Paul makes the theological point that this “Seed” is Christ. All the blessings flow through Him.

The result is that the blessings promised to Abraham now come to the Gentiles through faith in Christ. This is a wonderful inheritance: justification before God, removal of the curse, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

In this letter, Paul boldly asserts his authority as an apostle, defending both his calling and the message he received directly from Christ. He confronts pressing issues: How are we made right with God? How are we made righteous?

Suppose someone came to you with the proposition: “I know something that could split the church of Jesus Christ in half.” You would consider that a serious threat, wouldn’t you?

Separating from God and the Old Testament has led way to the church separating from it’s Hebraic roots and we are losing out! We can’t let that happen!
